Dr. Choi has expertise in treating diseases of the lung, esophagus, stomach, chest wall, airway, and mediastinum. He also performs lung transplantation and ex vivo lung perfusion. His surgical approach is minimally invasive surgery, including thoracoscopy and uni-portal surgery.
He has trained at leading institutions in the world to bring this expertise back for British Columbians. He has sub-specialty Oncology training from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he focused his attention on treating patients with esophageal and lung cancer. He is also trained in Lung Transplantation and ECMO from the University of Toronto, a centre renowned as the world-leader in lung transplantation.
